Dubai Municipality has provided support and training to the engineer and GIS Specialist, Maitha Al Nuaimi, to qualify as the first Emirati woman to obtain 3D camera drone license in Dubai awarded by the Civil Aviation Authority. Therefore, she is considered the first Emirati woman to be named as a captain of this type of aircraft in Dubai on 28 January 2019.
Maryam Al Muhairi, Director of Geographic Information Systems at Dubai Municipality, said: "The development of the talents and skills of the municipality staff is one of the most important priorities that we are constantly keen to implement and reflect.
By obtaining this license and undergoing two types of training: one on the specifications of the aircraft's operation and the way of controlling it, and the second on the way of using 3D imaging technology, she will be able to use the drone which is owned by Dubai Municipality and equipped with cameras that have advanced technical specifications in the field of 3D maps production.
