The buildingSMART UAE Chapter organized an introductory webinar session in the GIS Center for companies and individuals who are interested in the field of BIM and digital transformation in the building and construction sector from the MENA Region. This session was the first of the webinar series that will take place in every two weeks. It aimed to introduce the UAE Chapter and its objectives, and to present the different type of memberships for joining the UAE Chapter as future member. During the webinar, The “Dubai BIM Roadmap” project was also presented, which was implemented by the GIS Center in partnership with Trakhees and the Dubai Development Authority. The project helps in shorten the time of issuing a building permit and raising the level of services quality. In addition, owners and real estate developers benefit from the project by facilitating their business procedures and reducing costs. The buildingSMART UAE Chapter contributes to lead the global digital transformation in the construction sector of buildings, assets and infrastructure facilities, by creating and adopting unified global digital standards to design buildings and facilities in the project work stages.
